This is an outstanding book on Rorke’s Drift. I would recommend reading his book on Isandlwana first. The author, COL Mike Snook, really knows his business. He was commissioned into the Royal Regiment of Wales (24th/41st Foot) and over the ensuing 30 years served all round the world in command, operations and intelligence appointments/5().

This book provides a useful view of the people and events that took place at the battle for Rorke's Drift. I vaguely recall seeing the movie a bunch of years ago, and another book about the siege of the Red Fort during India's rebellion got me re-interested in similar battles and events/5().

Battle of Rorke's Drift - Wikipedia. It mostly talks about Rorkes Drift, which is great and what many would like to read, but I felt like I had just read an introduction to the Zulu War campaign. This is probably a book that can whet your appetite for campaign before you find something with much more detail.
